Model Legislature & Court: Westchester Family YMCA’s Youth & Government Program

Event Description:

The nationwide Model Legislature & Court program teaches students about government functions and the roles required to make those processes successful. Thousands of students from every corner of the state participate in the California chapter of the program. Through immersion in mock sessions, students assume the identities and responsibilities of government professionals such as lobbyists, lawyers, judges, and legislators by mounting a campaign and electing each other to statewide offices such as Secretary of State and Governor.
