5 Gyres Institute Woven Symposium

Event Description:

The 2024 Textile Symposium, Woven, aims to bring together leading textile brands, with several key scientists and stakeholders working on plastic microfiber pollution, to work towards a set of industry standards and solutions. Woven will be part of a series of 3 convenings - one coming up in a few weeks in Manchester, UK, one in Melbourne, AUS, and the biggest one will be here in the US. The invitees include, Sonoma, Patagonia, Electrolux, Walmart, and other brands, alongside several key NGO partners, i.e., Biomimicry Institute, Textile Exchange, etc. They want a venue for hosting a conference, as well as a partner who shares their vision. They believe Otis is an exciting possibility and they are ecstatic about hosting the event here at Otis. This symposium will be a two-day event from June 17 to June 18, 2024.
